Write With Me is a platform that enables two authors to write a single piece of literature collaboratively. One author will take their turn to progress a document and pass it on to their co-author when they are done for the time being. So, only one person can add to the document at a time. This form of turn-based writing allows each author to be at the helm of their work during their turn. You can also just write solo pieces here.
Posts are copyrighted properties of their respective authors. When you create a Post on Write With Me, you are granting us a revocable license to display the Post through our services, as agreed upon by you according to the Terms of Service when you signed up. Yes, you read that right, its a revocable license. You can take down your creations, and we will delete them from our services.
For collaborative posts, both authors need to approve deletion in order for the post to be deleted from the platform. Solo posts can be deleted instantly by their sole authors.
Considering an average of 5 characters per word, you could fit up to a maximum of 2 million words in a Post. Each Turn however is limited to 10,000 characters (or 2,000 words assuming 5 chars/word). The character limit on a Turn exists to encourage authors to not take too long for their Turn and thus preserve the enjoyment of collaborative writing. There isn't a limit on the number of Turns per Post, but if you are maxing out on characters in each Turn then you could hit a limit due to the overall limit of words per Post.
Yes, very. Tags represent genres, sub-genres, literary tropes and archetypes. Users can set Tag preferences in their Profile page, which tunes their Home Feed to show them more relevant posts. This means when you specify a 'rags-to-riches' tag on a Post of yours in INVITING_AUTHORS status, prospective co-authors who are interested in or good at writing 'rags-to-riches' stories are more likely to find your Post and collaborate on it. Similarly, when the work is published, readers who prefer 'rags-to-riches' stories are more likely to find your Post and enjoy it.
We are afraid not. Fan fictions would infringe upon the copyrights of the original works.
